Meet Dr. Mark I. Gutt: 30+ Years of Raising the Standard
Dr. Gutt founded his Miami Beach practice in 1991 and opened the Key West location in 2003. He earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania (1989) and completed his periodontal specialty training there in 1991. In 1999, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology — a distinction held by fewer than 20 % of all periodontists.
He was the first periodontist in Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County to offer YOMI® robotic-assisted dental implant placement. He is also certified in LANAP® laser gum therapy and the Pinhole Surgical Technique. In 2010, his case study earned first place in a national Straumann competition and was published in their practitioner case book.
Dr. Gutt speaks English, Spanish, and Hebrew fluently and has treated more than 1,000 patients from around the world. His guiding principle remains the same today as it was in 1991: “Constantly Raising the Standard of Periodontal and Implant Care.”

Advanced Treatments Available at Both Offices
YOMI® Robotic-Assisted Dental Implants
As the first periodontist in Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County to offer YOMI®, Dr. Gutt brings robotic precision to every implant case. YOMI is the only FDA-cleared robotic system specifically designed for dental implant placement. It combines 3D cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging with real-time haptic guidance, allowing sub-millimeter accuracy in positioning implants while avoiding critical structures like nerves and sinuses.
LANAP® Laser Gum Disease Treatment
For patients with moderate to advanced periodontal (gum) disease, LANAP®—Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure—provides a revolutionary, minimally invasive alternative to traditional scalpel-and-suture surgery. Dr. Gutt is certified in the use of the PerioLase® MVP-7, the specialized Nd:YAG laser that powers LANAP.
Pinhole Surgical Technique
Gum recession can expose tooth roots, cause sensitivity, and detract from your smile’s appearance. The Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™), developed by Dr. John Chao, offers a groundbreaking, incision-free solution. Dr. Gutt is trained and certified in this advanced method.
Additional Regenerative and Restorative Procedures
To support optimal outcomes, our practice also offers:
- Bone Grafting & Ridge Augmentation: Using advanced biomaterials and growth factors to rebuild lost jawbone after tooth loss, trauma, or disease, creating a strong foundation for implants.
- Sinus Lifts: Precisely elevating the sinus floor to allow safe implant placement in the upper back jaw.
- Guided Tissue & Bone Regeneration: Techniques that encourage natural regrowth for better periodontal stability.
- Full-Mouth Implant Rehabilitation: Comprehensive planning for All-on-4/All-on-6 or similar protocols, often with same-day provisional teeth.
- TMJ Disorder Therapy: Thorough evaluation of jaw function and bite, followed by custom appliances, occlusal adjustments, and conservative management to relieve pain, headaches, and chewing difficulties.
